Importance of Psychological Support in Shelter Centers

Psychological support services in shelter centers are among the most important humanitarian interventions for protecting the mental well-being of individuals affected by crises and disasters, particularly women and children.

These services help reduce the long-term effects of psychological trauma, strengthen resilience, and encourage positive social connections within local communities, ultimately contributing to greater family and community stability.

Al Yusuf Center believes in the importance of sustaining and expanding these programs to reach the largest possible number of individuals in need of psychological care and support.

Future Recommendations

Al Yusuf Center for Psychological Counseling and Psychosocial Support believes in the importance of continuing psychological and psychosocial support programs for women and families affected by humanitarian crises, while expanding these initiatives to reach additional vulnerable groups.

The Center also seeks to strengthen partnerships with national and international organizations and to provide specialized training programs that enhance the capacity of psychological counselors and volunteers, ensuring the sustainability of mental health services and creating long-term positive outcomes for beneficiaries and their communities.

Sustainability of Community Impact

The Psychological Support Program for Martyrs’ Wives and Widows promoted community solidarity and mutual support within shelter centers by creating a safe environment where participants could exchange experiences, express emotions, and build meaningful social relationships based on cooperation and empathy.

The program also increased awareness of the importance of mental health in achieving family and community stability and highlighted the need for continued psychological counseling and psychosocial support services for those most affected by humanitarian crises.

Al Yusuf Center continues to develop and expand similar initiatives to ensure that psychological and psychosocial services reach more beneficiaries, strengthen community resilience, and contribute to building a safer and more stable future.
